Meet the Doctors
Wayne A. Gouvion, DDS
Dr. Gouvion graduated from USC School of Dentistry in 1967. After 2 years as a U.S. Navy Dentist, he joined Dr. James Hodge in Irvine. As the first dentists in Irvine their practices flourished. After 22 years together, Dr. Hodge moved to Sun Valley , Idaho and Dr. Gouvion moved into his present suite.
Dr. Gouvion has continued to expand his knowledge and skills by attending thousands of hours of continuing education courses including a 40 year membership in the Newport Harbor Academy of Dentistry. He is also a member of the American Dental Association, California Dental Association and the Orange County Dental Society.
Since 1979 Dr. Gouvion has lived in Newport Beach with his wife Nancy where they raised their three children Michael, Lauren and Matthew. In his spare time, Dr. Gouvion enjoys all USC sports, his 7 grandchildren and the 5 acre vineyard he planted in Murrietta in 1999.
David E. Grant, DDS
Dr. David E. Grant earned his Doctorate in Dental Surgery from the University of Southern California School of Dentistry in 2003. While attending USC, Dr. Grant was named a Dean's Scholar for his high levels of academic and clinical achievements. Prior to attending USC, Dr. Grant received his B.A. degree in Biology from the University of Pennsylvania in 1998. Dr.Grant practiced dentistry in Manhattan, NY for several years while his wife completed her residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
Delighted to move back to Southern California to finally be close to his family and friends, Dr. Grant joined the Irvine, Ca. practice in 2008 with a commitment to delivering the highest level of contemporary, comprehensive and compassionate dental care. Dedicated to staying current and proficient with leading edge dentistry, he has incorporated some of the most advanced dental technology and techniques into the practice and participates regularly in continuing education and advanced training courses.
Dr. Grant's memberships include: American Dental Association, California Dental Association, Orange County Dental Association
Dr. Grant enjoys spending time with his family. He is an avid reader, cook, marathoner and golfer. He and his wife, Dr. Bao-Thy N. Grant, have a daughter Kyla and son Cody.
Tracy N. Pene, DDS
Dr. Pene moved to Irvine from the East Coast in 1987. She attended the University of California, Irvine where she earned a Bachelors of Science Degree in Biology, then continued on to receive her Doctorate in Dental Surgery at UCLA where she graduated with honors.
Following completion of a post-doctoral General Practice Residency at the Long Beach Veterans Hospital, Dr. Pene moved to Washington state to practice dentistry while her husband completed his Endodontic residency. After two years in Seattle, she returned to Irvine and has been practicing with us since 1999.
Dr Pene and her husband Jef, enjoy spending time with their two sons, traveling, running and are avid hockey fans.
